As a mom, I am constantly challenged to show my kids that nice is good, that kindness still exists, that even though things seem tough, there is always light at the end of the tunnel. While at times it may seem difficult to hold this positive outlook on life, it is not impossible. Even those without kids may find it difficult to tell themselves that despite recent events, overheard conversations, or personal encounters, people are still genuinely good at heart.
It can be hard to find daily inspiration, but there are simple ways you yourself can add a little more magic to this world. The truth is, it’s happening all around us every day, we just have to allow ourselves to see it and be a part of it.
Big organizations giving back. Did you know that some of the most popular businesses today were designed with good in mind? It’s true. Take Toms shoes for example. Volunteering. I am constantly in awe by the number of volunteers or contributors I see at local charity events. Busy, everyday people who make time for a cause they believe in. The next time your neighborhood has an event or fundraiser, ask how you can help! It may be a dollar amount or just helping to pass out water; but I assure you, the help is needed and greatly appreciated.

Find those niches that go unnoticed. Every winter, we donate our old blankets to the local animal shelters. While it is a small gesture, I am certain it goes a long way. Animals and kids speak to my heart, so find out what speaks to yours and the feeling you will get in return is worth a million dollars!
At the end of the day, I encourage you to take a look around and notice the little things, the beautiful things that constantly surround us. It may be hard or difficult at times, but if you look hard enough, it’s there. I also encourage you to see how you can add to this goodness and make it a little more… magical for everyone.
